Our Fees

We, Legit Solicitors, are committed to providing honest and high-quality service. Our fees policy is fair, transparent, reasonable, and simple to understand. We are pleased to discuss with you whether you require legal advice or representation and the steps we could take on your behalf.

At Legit Solicitors, we believe in providing clear and transparent pricing for all our legal services. Below, you will find details of our fees, including whether VAT is applicable, any disbursements you may need to pay, and our hourly rates where applicable.

Initial Consultation

For a new matter, we offer an initial consultation. You can telephone us on 0208 004 4424 or email us to info@legitsolicitors.com. Your matter will be forwarded to one of our legal team members who will take brief instructions from you and will advise you the best options available for you. Face to face one off appointment is also available to obtain initial advice.

How We Charge...

Fixed Fees

In some cases, where the work we are going to do can be reasonably defined in advance, we can offer a ‘Fixed Fee’ for the work to be undertaken. The benefit of a Fixed Fee Agreement is that you know at the beginning of the case what your legal costs will be.

We offer fixed fees for many immigration and legal services. The fees below exclude VAT, which is charged at 20% where applicable.

VAT Exemptions: Some immigration services (such as asylum cases) may be exempt from VAT. We will confirm VAT applicability at the outset of your case.

Hourly Rates

In other cases, our fees will be based on the amount of time we spend working on your case, at an hourly rate.  We will try to estimate the likely costs in your case at the beginning, or as soon as possible afterwards. We can provide no guarantee that the final charge will not exceed the estimate because there are many factors outside our control that affect the level of costs. If it becomes clear that the costs will be greater than the amount estimated, then we will give you a revised estimate and the reason for the revision.

Where work is charged on an hourly basis, our rates are as follows. VAT is charged at 20% unless otherwise stated.

When is an hourly rate used?

Hourly rates apply where a fixed fee cannot be agreed, such as in complex appeals, Judicial Reviews, and ongoing litigation.

Discounted Fee Agreement (DFA)

If we are assisting you with Judicial Review proceedings or other court litigation, we might be able to offer you a Discounted Fee Agreement (DFA). This involves us charging at a discounted hourly rate if your case is not successful. We will tell you if we believe that your case is suitable for a DFA.

Disbursements

The fees quoted above are the legal fees, paid to Legit Solicitors. There might be other fees you will have to pay, sometimes called disbursements. These are costs such as visa or application fees, the Immigration Health Surcharge, court fees, fees for medical reports or translations, and courier or Special/Recorded Delivery fees. We will advise you at the beginning of the case of any anticipated disbursements.

Note: We will always confirm disbursement costs in advance before proceeding with your case.
